•FOURTH WALLING / CANON PUNCTURE: For people pointing out that my character is fictional, I prefer to be asked first! But I’m OK with people from his canon revealing stuff about the future—there’s not much he doesn’t know about at this point anyway. Now, stuff about his past being revealed I'm also OK with, but he's going to be FIERCELY protective of it, so don't expect him to respond well.
•BACKTAGGING: Sure! Also feel free to poke me if I've dropped a thread that you want to keep working on--sometimes I can be a little shy about continuing something if I've been slow to tag.
•AVOIDED TOPICS: Ask if you’re unsure, but other than not wanting to play out smut with the 17-year-old there’s not much I feel the need to avoid. (I am, however, OK with implying that something sexual happened off-screen--juuust, yeah, he's 17, so be aware of that.)
•PREFERRED GENDER PRONOUN: I'm female! So she/her/etc.
IC CHARACTERISTICS:
•CURRENT CANON POINT:Between act 56 and the epilogue—I’m saying for him it’s been a little under 2 years since he's lost the horns, so when he left it was late 1926 and he’s now 17.
•PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: He's a little taller than averageI keep trying to estimate it based on other character's official heights but...nope, not working, slim but unathletic, with shaggy blond hair and blue-green eyes. He usually wears his Magdalan Order uniform (seen on another member here, and on Joshua himself (as a 23-year-old) here), but may also be seen in worn-in 1920s sportswear in dark, cool tones (but almost never black). A little sloppy when out of uniform--wears ties loosely and doesn’t tuck in his shirts unless he’s forced to.
Speaks with an American accent (of muddled origin—a little California, a little Michigan, maybe a bit of NYC thrown in the mix) and uses a fair amount of jazz age slang. His scent is unremarkable (maybe just a hint of some sort of woodsy scented soap), unless he’s been cooking soup—then he’ll smell a bit like spices, bay leaves, thyme, etc. His uniform probably smells of spices, too.
•DEMEANOR: Can be very stiff around people he doesn’t know well in an attempt to be “proper” for a clergy member/not make a bad impression, and has a lot of emotional walls up underneath. Once he warms up to someone he becomes much more casual but will still be unlikely to spill his guts unless he has grown very comfortable with them or has a really good reason. He's generally good-natured but has a fierce temper, particularly when his buttons are pushed (see offensive subjects). Curious and an avid reader. Outgoing and friendly, but hates large crowds.
•ABILITIES: Although he’s a little scatterbrained at times, he’s observant and good at putting two and two together. He also knows a lot about supernatural subjects (his sister labeled him an “occult maniac” as a kid and his knowledge has only grown since joining the Order) and Christian scripture—although he’s generally not confident enough to vehemently debate his viewpoints.
Although not particularly athletic, he knows the basics of how to fight, and is competent with a gun and might be able to use a sword in a pinch, but he's very inexperienced in real fighting (without his now-lost powers, anyway).
He’s also become very good at cooking soup. But only soup. He’s mediocre to decent at cooking pretty much everything else--he can make something EDIBLE, sure, but nothing that will awe people with his ability unless it's something like a good 'ol chicken and noodle.
•MEDICAL INFORMATION: He suffers from insomnia, and when it gets particularly bad he takes Veronal to help him sleep. As a kid he was very ill and often had coughing fits and seizures, although now that he’s older he’s generally healthy—but is a bit more susceptible to illness than others, and often needs at least a few days of bed rest if he catches anything.
(Note: The insomnia is total head canon, based on guesses of how some former issues would've affected him.)

The door is a pretty simple wooden door with an old-fashioned looking knob. Inside is Joshua’s room from when he was a child at the Seventh Bell orphanage. There’s a large bay window opposite of the door, and the room has several bookshelves full of childish knick-knacks—toy guns, stacks of books, a jar of marbles, that sort of thing. Several pictures line the shelves and the walls, including some photographs, posters advertising wild west gun shows, messy sketches and a framed postcard of a WWI-era airplane.
On the floor next to the bed, and about five feet up on the side of the door facing inward, there are dried blood stains.
•OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Insulting his sister, implying he’s an outcast/freak/creepy/crazy/weak/etc., having information he revealed in secret spread around (particularly anything about his past), being coddled.
IC PERMISSIONS:
•MENTAL: Please check with me first--Joshua’s head is a mess and there’s a lot of stuff he does NOT want people to know so I’d rather be given a heads-up and a chance to work things out with the other mun.
•MIMICRY: Sure!
•VIOLENCE: Yes, although please work out the details with me before hand if it might lead to anything more than some bruises/scratches.
•MAGIC: Yes, but please ask about anything major or permanent.
